About CRO

Central Regional Office (CRO) was established in Bhopal on 1st December 1994. Central Regional Office, Bhopal is one of seven regional offices established under pursuance to National Policy on Education (1986) for the de-centralization of working of UGC. CRO, Bhopal is successfully meeting the objective of ensuring that a large number of colleges throughout the three states (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan) which are covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, will have better opportunities of response to their needs and problems by way of easier access.

It was set up in the year 1994 and covers the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan


The Schemes being operated at the UGC-CRO cater to the diverse needs of the Colleges :
1. General Development Grant to state colleges - XII plan
2. Women's/Boy's Hostel for Colleges
3. Autonomous Colleges
4. Faculty Development Programme (Colleges)
5. Development of Sports Infrastructure and Equipment
6. Minor Research Projects
7. Seminar/Conferences for Colleges
8. IQAC
